What Causes Mild Pain And Tightness On Left Side Of Pelvic Bone?
Greetings Dr. Rynne,Just above my pelvic bone slightly to the left I have a dull pain that is getting worse. I have been taking a prostate vitamin from Usana health products and sometimes I think it is working however while sitting for a period of time I get small spasms occasionally and sometimes I can feel them in my left testicle. When I touch the crown jewel on the left it does not seem to spark anything other than nervousness. When I push down into the region on the left just above the pelvic bone I can feel a strand of perhaps muscle that feels tight. Pushing does aggravate the area and makes me wince a little. I drink coffee but no alcohol. I never take any drugs of any kind and up to now I have felt pretty good. Old age, grin and bare it, or perhaps you know of something likely. Thanks Clark Douglas
Tightness in pelvis can result when the pelvic floor muscles become hyper-tonic or too tight. I suggest usign a muscle relaxant such a Baclofen three times a day. I also suggest using warm compresses at the pelvic area and take magnesium supplement daily.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
