What Causes Mild Pain In Left Testicle With A Small Lump?

Did not expect this, sorry I have been researching on line regarding testicular pain I have been experiencing mild to moderate in My left testical. First noticed it about a week ago. Tonight it was a little more painful and before showering I checked out the area at the top and behind my left testical where the pain seemed more intense. Felt a lump/mass there that when I applied slight pressure to intensified the pain there and felt it in my lower left abdominal quadrant. After researching the condition I have the most in common with is called spermatocele. I truly hope that this real and not some internet B.S. I m a real person with wife and two children to support. This could be a minor issue or could be a major issue from what I have researched so far. I thank you for taking the time to read this

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You are right, there may be numerous causes for testicular pain and swelling, however, what you described is likely to be an infection. infection of testes is called orchitis. This generally causes pain in the testes. Mostly it needs a course of antibiotics. A spermatocele is a close differential and would need proper examination. So you may need to see your doctor for evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
