What Causes Mild Tingling Sensations In Right Ear Radiating Towards Neck?

I have very slight tingling sensations from my right ear down into my neck, like butterfly kisses, intermittent and not painful but just tingles.Comes and goes.Started after I had a crown put on one of my teeth in the back jaw.Sometimes feels like something small crawling around in my ear.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your symptoms mild tingling sensations in right ear radiating towards neck could be due to tooth infection which is not finding its way to escape and leading to facial space infection. The symptoms can also occur due to ear infection , lymphadenopathy or nervous dysfunction. I would suggest you to visit dentist once and get it examined. Get intraoperstive periapical radiograph done and find out level of infection. Start root canal treatment of particular tooth. Maintain oral hygiene by brushing and flossing twice daily. Rinse with antiseptic mouthwash such as listerine mouth wash. Another possible reason is the lymph nodes behind the ear may be inflamed due to infection of the gums or oral cavity. Get it evaluated properly and start treatment accordingly. Doctor may refer you to ENT specialist .Take combination of painkiller and cortisone injection. Start with physiotherapy as well.
