What Causes Mild Vaginal Spotting During 34th Week Of Pregnancy?

Hi. Good day. Im 34 weeks pregnant. The other day i got blodd stain on my undies ( dark reddish to brown in color) i immediately went to my OB GYNE for emergency check up.. my OB GYNE says my cervix is not open yet but im having a spotting. So she required me to have a steriod (injectible) so that if ever my baby comes out early it would be protected from any viruses. I stayed in the hospital for almost 2 hrs because they conduct an analogic exam ( where my baby s hearbeat, movement and contraction is being monitored by a machine) After 2 tests of analogic exam they told me that everything is fine and im good to go. Now my question is.. my OB GYNE told me to take progesterone ultrogestan 200mg soft gel capsule.. 2 x day for 1 week. Is it safe and healthy for me and my 34 weeks baby to take this even if my spotting or bleeding stopped already??? This is my first pregnancy and im 32 yrs old. Im on bed rest till i give birth. I do understand your pain and discomfort.
As per your history is concerned please follow my advise below-:
1) Take bed rest
2)As ultrasound is normal no need to take progesterone at this time.
3)In the report check following parameters a) Intra amniotic Infection,b)Placenta Previa c)Baby Presentation Complications d)Placental Abruption e)Premature Rupture of Membranes, f)Dystocia
4)Tell them to add antibiotics before delivery and repeat Ultrasound and use a fetal Doppler at home.
