Greetings. Welcome to HCM and thank you for your question. I understand your concern.

There is a percentage of patients that do not have bad habits and still suffer heart attacks. However, you should be informed that not only bad habits are risk factors for a heart attack. There is also age, genetic factor, high cholesterol, high LDL-fraction, high blood pressure and diabetes.
If it was told to you that this heart attack was minor, then probably a secondary branch of a main artery was totally blocked, that caused the attack, I am assuming diagonal branch of left anterior descendent (LAD) artery. If it was treated with a stent implantation within six hours after the onset of pain, then, based on a body of studies, the benefits will be very good. You probably have done an echocardiogram, where heart function was evaluated. Six months after the stenting, you should get another echocardiogram, to reassess the benefits achieved from the stent. If the left ventricle ejection fraction is not under 55% or 0.55, then you should live a normal life, with no restrictions. As everybody knows, web and graphic designers lead a sedentary lifestyle, so I would encourage you to engage on a 60 minute per day physical activity, at least.

I hope I was helpful. Take care.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
