What Causes Miscarriage Due To No Heart Beat At The 35th Week Of Pregnancy?

Hi, We lost our baby during 35th week of pregnancy on Dec 19th. We went for a regular ultrasound and came in for a rude shock that there was no heart beat. Baby was pretty healthy and my wife did have vomitings earlier 2-3 weeks back but it was normal again and she was getting constantly checked for flulid level which was at 8.8 considered to be safe. We did not opt for autopsy due to emotinal reasons. Externally everything was fine with mother and baby. Not sure what suddenly happened. Please advise

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

It is very difficult to comment on the exact cause of miscarriage but mostly it is due to congenital anomaly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sujoy S. Bhattacharjee, OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine
