Hi,

Dieting, severe exercise, excess weight loss and sometimes long travel, nutritional deficiencies can cause absent or delayed periods. Any hormonal imbalance such as ovarian cyst and hypothyroidism should be ruled out. The cause of abdominal size increase should be ruled.Any bloating and gastritis should be treated.

Complete blood count, Abdominal and pelvic ultrasound should be done to identify the cause.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
