What Causes Missed Period After Taking Unwanted 72?

Resected mam, Following are the details of periods,& intercourse dates. Kindly help me if it is a mestrual irregularity or i m pregrant. Periods in Nov. - 12-17 periods in dec - 9-15 AND 27-31 (* First time intercourse on 7 dec 2015 ,n then on 22 Dec 2015 , Took Unwanted 72 pills within 3 hours of the Congress at both times) Peroids on jan - 28jan -2 feb. ( Intercourse on 13 and 14 jan, took unwanted 72 i pills within 6 hrs of each congress ) intercourse on feb 9 ,n feb 21 . Took unwanted 72 pill after congress at both the dates. No periods till now, i.e - 3 march 2016 . Mam is it a menstrual irregularity or a pregnancy case. Thanks

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Delay in periods or missed period is a common side-effect after intake of an emergency contraceptive pill like Unwanted 72. The delayed periods are due to effect of high dose of levonorgestrel hormone in the pill which disrupts your normal menstruation & causes delayed periods. Pregnancy chance should be less.

An emergency contraceptive should not be used as regular method of contraception as you have done. Regular intake of emergency contraceptive pill could cause irregular & delayed periods, ectopic pregnancy & other harmful effects including infertility. Next time use regular contraceptive pill or condoms for prevention of unwanted pregnancy.

You are also advised to do a pregnancy test to rule-out even slightest chance of pregnancy.
