What Causes Missed Period Despite A Negative UPT?

I am late on my period, and I took a few tests and they all came back negative. But the weird thing is I am having cravings for things I don t like to eat, I can smell things stronger and I am having mood swings? Was the test lying to me and I am pregnant?

UPT (urine pregnancy tests) can sometimes turn false negatives. The test measures a hormone called hcg in urine.
Sometimes the apparatus is not sensitive enough to detect changes and sometimes it could be negative despite adequate levels.
I would recommend you to visit your obstetrician. You will be offered blood investigators and/or imaging like ultrasonography to confirm on pregnancy.
Hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic. Have a wonderful day.
