What Causes Missed Period Despite Having Negative UPT?
Hello, I was supposed to start my menstural cycle on 2/3/15 and it would of ended on 2/7/15, I ve had regualar periods ever since the birth of my daughter 3 years ago, not sure why this period would be late, I was sick with the flu and had cold right before I was supposed to start my period on 1/31/15 and I was sick for 4 days. I took home first response pregnancy test but it came back negative I m confused.

I understand your concern.
Illness & the stress following it- can deviate menstrual cycle temporarily for few days- it resolves on it's own.
Home pregnancy test can be positive after 8 days of delay in periods. If done earlier it may be -ve.
You should get your pregnancy test done - Blood test can be done earlier ( around expected day of periods) or HPT after 8 days delay.
- If it is +ve, you are pregnant.
- If -ve,take Tab Regestrone 1 tablet three times a day for 3 days--- bleeding should follow within 8 days of last pill.
- If no bleeding after registrone, you should consult a gynecologist ,to investigate & find other cause of lac of period.

You are not getting your regular period this time and pregnancy test is also negative.
First regarding pregnancy test, it takes 35 days to become positive, so again repeat the test after a week.
Regarding missed period, most common cause is pregnancy. So wait for a week and again do a test, if it remains negative then to become a complete sure consult a doctor and do a ultrasound.
