What Causes Missed Period Post Nexplanon Withdrawal?
So I had the nexplanon/implanon form of birth control a few months ago and i took it out due to heavy bleeding and other physical issues. Now after it was removed I was expecting a period the month after, when i didn't get it i just figured hormones changing. Now however i have missed yet another period and i am 11 days late. My husband and I have had unprotected sex but i have taken about 4-5 pregnancy tests and they have all come back negative. So in turn i am worried about what is going on with me.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
hi, I understand your concern. After withdrawal of Nexplanon, fertility returns to it's normal level within maximum 2 months of withdrawal. You should do UPT after 3 weeks of unprotected sex/ Blood HCG testing within 2 weeks of unprotected sex to exclude pregnancy. Use some alternative contraceptive, till you start your period & then switch over to other suitable method after consulting a gynecologist. Thanks.
