What Causes Missed Period Post A Surgical Abortion?

I had a surgical abortion Tuesday March 31, 2015, I believe I was about 7 weeks along. First period, Monday May 4, 2015 but now no second period. I m getting worried, of course I ve had sexual intercourse but there s always been protection. I was reading online and someone made a comment that my uterus lining has to grow back but if that was the case then I wouldn t have had the first period right? I don t know what to expect because I ve had a surgical abortion about 2 years ago and everything went back to normal afterwards had all my periods, same cycles, same length, same everything and now its completely different. Any help would be great, thanks!

Hello,

If you had protection during sexual intercourse, then you should not be pregnant. Since you are not wanting to have a baby, you should be on regular CP. If you are only using condoms, you may be at risk as pre-ejaculate may get into the vagina through the fingers and cause pregnancy. If you are not pregnant and have missed the periods it may be due to stressful lifestyle, anxiety, hormonal imbalance, PCOS, anemia, poor general health condition, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by your gynecologist. Get tests and investigations done. Get treated.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
