General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You missed your periods, you are 46 yrs of age. Your periods are always regular. You have not mentioned if you are sexually active or not. You are in perimenopausal phase. You will experience changes in hormonal level due to which you may have irregular menses, scanty menses or heavy menses, spotting or miss periods, etc. It is a normal physiological process through which all women go through at this age. Missed periods are caused by changes in hormone, anemia, stress, exhaustion, poor general health condition, thyroid problems, PCOS and pregnancy in people who are sexually active.

Sudden weight gain or weight loss, skipping meals, may contribute to missed periods. You are suggested to get clinically examined by your gynecologist. Get blood tests, hormone tests, required investigation and imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. You will be treated accordingly. Avoid stress and take adequate sleep. Do not skip meals, do regular walking.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
