What Causes Missed Periods After Unprotected Sex When Having Irregular Periods, Hyperthyroid?

Hi mysellf and my newly married wife had unprotected sex but i withdrawed at the final. Her period was supposed to be on the day we had sex. She is quite irregular with periods and on medication for hyperthyroid. Now she is 21days late. Plz help we havent planned for a baby just yet

Hello,
If she is slightly irregular, like a week, it is time you get her tested for pregnancy. If she has very irregular cycles, the time of ovulation cannot be predicted and also the safety of the time you had intercourse. Withdrawal method has high failure rate. In the current scenario, I would suggest an assessment of serum beta-hCG titres as these are more conclusive. In addition, a trans-vaginal sonogram would be helpful. Please take the help of a gynecologist, get a physical exam and also check if the thyroid status is made normal through treatment. Hope this helps.
