What Causes Missed Periods And Pregnancy Test To Be Negative?

I am 25 years old. I have had very regular periods since begining,always have a period between 26-30 days. My last period was 8/28/11 and I have missed the period for september and October is approaching. I have been having unprotected sex
with my husband.I did Pregency tests at home with HPT test kit.Unfortunately, evrytime it went to negative. Please let us know the reason is it any serious issue?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Delay in regular periods with history of unprotected sex in fertile age is more likely to be pregnancy
- HPT may be -ve in spite of pregnancy if done earlier than 8-10 days of delay in period.
- other conditions when periods are missed/delayed & there is no conception are-
Severe physical/psychological stress, severe anemia & weakness, prolonged illness, Hormonal imbalance ( PCOD, thyroid problems.)
- Mostly doctors give short course of contraceptive pills AFTER EXCLUDING PREGNANCY-which produces withdrawal bleeding & usually normal menstrual cycle is reset .
To to get the problem investigated & treated if the same problem is repeated becomes important from fertility point of view.
