What Causes Missed Periods Despite A Negative UPT?

Hi, may I ask you a question? I was on the pill for 3.5 years. I recently went off in December, and it is not April. My periods post pill were basically normal, a little light and sometimes 4 days late. However I am currently 10 days late. I have never had unprotected sex and I even took a pregnancy test that was negative. Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Delayed periods can be due to hormonal disturbance like hypothyroidism, hyperpropactinemia or polycystic ovarian disease.
I will suggest you to get your thyroid levels, prolactin levels tested and get an ultrasound done to confirm the diagnosis and treatment accordingly.

Hope you found the answer helpful.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma
