I have been on the Mirena for 2 1/2 years with normal 2-3 day cycles until I missed my last period. My next period was due today or tomorrow and still no sign of it. After I missed my last period I went to take a urine test at the OB, which was negative and they said Its too early to tell anyway. Over the counter tests also said negative. My last baby was a Mirena baby. After a negative test with him, and removing the IUD, I didn t know I was pregnant with him until 2 months later at the doctor. The ultrasound revealed I was 12 weeks pregnant. I m getting concerned I am pregnant again and the OB will just send me away once again. What should I do? I also have no insurance without Pregnancy Medicaid.
hi healthcare magic user, if I would have been your doctor I would have advised you to get confirmatory test called serum BHCG and repeat it after 48hours that will guide us whether it's pregnancy or not. As mirena is known to have breakthrough bleeding that is spotting in between that's why difficult to diagnose pregnancy. you may see spotting in between periods or delayed periods it's usual .
