What Causes Missed Periods While On Birth Control?

On birth control have missed my period, have jsut taken a course of antibotics for a burn that I had on my leg, could this be reason my period has not come. Did use other precaution once I started to take the antibotics and also for week after I finished them. Haven't done a pregnancy test, but don't have any signs of pregnancy.
