What Causes Missing Periods After Coming Of Depo?

Hi, Ive been on depo for many years. stopped briefly 5 years ago, periods returned within a month. This time, last injection was May last year (1 yr ago) so wore off august. No sign of any period. How long to wait? anything I can do to speed it up so I am fertile?
