What Causes Missing Periods And Negative Pregnancy Tests?

My period is 7 days late but still negative testing; today however, I have woken to find I have swelling at the bottom of my spine. It is painful to sit down and I'm slightly swollen around my vagina. Can you please inform me whether this is normal or if I should go to my local A & E, thanks
