Writer's cramp is a specific type of
focal dystonia that affects your fingers, hand, or forearm. Focal distance of the hands is a
neurological movement disorder. The brain sends incorrect information to the muscles, causing involuntary, excessive muscle contractions. These signals can make your hands twist into odd postures.
Writer's cramps may need variety of therapies like physical and
occupational therapy, botulinum neurotoxin injection, relaxation and distraction, sensory re-education, sensory motor returning.
Lastly surgery like pallidotomy or
deep brain stimulation etc.
This condition may be resistance to drugs so need various approaches to treat.
