What Causes Momentary Vision Of White Shooting Light?

sometimes when I blink, I see bright white shooting lights for a split second. Sometimes above and sometimes below in my vision. Not all the time and I can t make it happen, it is random. However, it has happened enough in the last two days to make me aware of the lights , at first I wasn t sure what I was seeing, or IF I was seeing white momentary flashes. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Many eye disorders may manaifest with white shooting light. Some possible causes may include diabetic and hypertensive retinopathies. Some of these conditions may be progressive and take time to become noticed.
I will suggest you see an Ophthalmologist for examination and a fundoscopic exam.I will also suggest you have your BP and blood glucose checked.
Hope this will help
Best regards
