What Causes Mood Swings While On Percocet And Ativan?

my sister has cancer and takes percocet for pain. she also take ativan for anxiety. the percocet makes her very hyper to the point where she can t complete a thought and talks nonstop jumping from subject to subject. she also gets really angry and verbally abusive. is there another drug that would work better for her?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are mood swing causes while on Percocet and Ativan . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like psychiatric disorders, such as bipolar disorder or borderline personality disorder , dementia, brain tumors, meningitis, and stroke , But in your case there is possibility that the symptoms are probably due to side effect of ativan . I would suggest you to consult your doctor , who prescribed ativan and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dosage or prescribe substitute . Doctor may also refer you to psychiatrist .
