What Causes Mottled Skin In The Abdominal Area?

I noticed that the skin color on my stomach has taken a mottled appearance. I am a caucasian 63 yr male. The mottling is red along with my normal flesh colored skin. I am a little concerned. I am on about 15 prescriptions a day for pain, hypothyroid heart ulcer conditions. Oh yes, and Cholesterol. I think I covered all my medical scripts.

Hello,

Mottled skin can occur in hypothyroidism or due to the side of effect of one the drugs (particularly levodopa) you have been taking. You can check your thyroid function test (Free T3, Free T4 & TSH), again to know the state of control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
