What Causes Mouth Spitting To Be Reddish?

Hi, for a few weeks now, I notice, when I get up first thing in the morning and wash my mouth or spit out, it is brownish in color or sometimes reddish, a after cleaning up my mouth, then the rest of the day it is normal. I don t cough, so not sure if the blood is coming frm my mouth or from inside. What could be the reasons?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and I am suspecting that most likely radish color of sputum at morning hours is because of minimal bleeding in either mouth or throat.
Usually in mouth it comes from gums and in throat from nasopharynx.

It will be better to consult your ENT doctor for thorough examination of teeth, gums and throat and for necessary investigations to make the diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks for consulting HCM.
