What Causes Movable Lump Under The Skin Of Armpit?
My wife who is 49 years old began complaining of tenderness and swelling on her right axilla two days ago. We also noticed something the size of a large firm rubbery grape palpable under the skin and its mobile. She has a history of a right breast lumpectomy approx 2 years ago, and a history of thyroid nodules. The mass removed from her breast was a non malignant capsulated tumor. Im unable to remember the specific type of tissue that was removed at this time. last night she said she thought she could feel a smaller swelling adjacent to the original. She said they are somewhat tender upon palpation. Also I noticed what appears to be a slight reddened area on one of her shaven hair folicles directly above the area of the swelling. She denies any fever or sweats, but does complain of fatigue. She says she feels like sleeping all the time. Her mother had a history of colon cancer with mets to the breast, lung, bone and brain. Her father died of lung cancer...He was a heavy smoker. Can you help me? Should I be worried?
Hi, It seems that she might be having ingrown hair follicle infection giving rise to enlarged tender axillary lymph nodes. As there is history of having lumpectomy on right breast, it is advisable to go for breast examination of the breasts. If require go for mammography. At present go for one antibiotic medicine course for 3-5 days. Ok and take care.
