Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Moving Pain While Flexing Muscles, Sore Ribs And Painful Left Shoulder?
I was checked for a hernia years ago and was told I don t have one. But something pops out when i get up fast, bend, etc. I push on it and I can feel it moving like a wave. It hurts and freaks me out every time. It used to be only on the left side but now has moved to the right also. The rib also is sore to the touch. Just after I had an episode today, I have such pain in my left shoulder and down my arm. What could it possibly be?
You have three different issues, the first being at hernia site with the way you have explained is suggestive of hernia unless proved otherwise. Get confirmation by being examined by a General Surgeon and supported by an Ultrasonography. About the ribs tenderness, it can be due to costochondritis. The pain in left shoulder and arm can be due to cervical spondylitis. Hence I would advise you to see the respective consultants after preliminary examination and investigations to see for the cause and get a confirmed diagnosis. Once diagnosed then appropriate management for each can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
