What Causes Mucus From Anus When Diagnosed With Hemorrhoids?

Why have I had mucus from my anus and no hard stools for several weeks now. I do have hemmoraids and just a little red blood when I wipe. No anal sex and no cramping. I have gone to my doctor just waiting to hear back from his office. I am frightened.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read your query and understand the concern.

Before running into final conclusions, I would like to know if you are also having any fever or abdominal pain/cramps or constipation problems.

If you are having fever and abdominal pain, then, mucus and bleeding from anus is indicative for possible inflammatory/infectious bowel diseases (e.g. ulcerative colitis, bowel infections) along with your hemorrhoids.

You might require topical steroids like anovate cream, oral antibiotics (ofloxacin with ornidazole),anti-inflammatory,antihistamines and laxatives or purgative if constipation with other supportive treatment like hot sitz bath and avoid oily, spicy and non-veg diet with high intake of dietary fibers like salads.

If it is 3rd or 4th degree means partial or complete rectal prolapse then surgery is the best way to get cured with all above conservative treatment.
Consult general surgeon for further advise.

If symptoms worsens, then you should go to ER or schedule an immediate appointment with GI specialist.

Regards,
I find this answer helpful
