What Causes Mucus In Periods?

Hi. I have been on birth control for two years and my past two periods have been mucusy and pretty much non existent. I took a blood test about 8 weeks ago and it came back neg. and home tests after that that came back neg. should I be worried about this missed perios?

Hi,

It is just because your menstrual blood is mixed with cervical mucus. There is nothing much to worry and it is a normal thing. In case of symptoms like pain or itching we have to rule out possible infection like thrush and in that case you have to go for a vaginal swab.
