Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My Baby Girl is 3months old. Weighing 6.2kgs. She was suffering from little cold, for which doctor has prescribed Ascoril syrup. Now she is having this liquid / semi liquid stool with mucus and foam like in it 3 to 4 times. Doctor is telling the cold is coming out with stool but also prescribed Nor-Metrogyl 3ml for 2 times for 5days. I have not started the Nor-Metrogyl dose yet. Is it safe to give it to my 3months old daughter. Otherwise, dhe is facing no problems. She is urinating at regular intervals, on brestfeed and sleeping and laughing well. Please suggest.
If your three-month-old baby is doing quite well with Ascoril syrup, there is no need to give any other medicine.
Nor-metrogyl syrup is an antibiotic that stops the growth of certain bacteria & parasites. In case your baby passes loose stools frequently then you can give it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
