What Causes Mucus In The Stool And Severe Flatulence?
Having a fair bit of mucus discharge from bowel as well as heavy flatulence..Have had Colon inspections on a regular basis with polops removed 2 yrs ago and clear since then..Am 71 yrs old and not over weight..Bowel movements sometimes normal and sometimes resemble sheep droppings.Have had Diverticulitis out breaks in the past as well which cleared up via anti Biotics..Perhaps I need another course of them do you think..?

Your symptoms suggest irritation of bowels with infection like amoebiasis or over eating that causes digestive disturbance. Stool examination to recognize the organism followed by specific antibiotic with a physicians advise would help.
