What Causes Muffled Hearing And Brown Discharge From The Ears?
My son (18) has had a muffled ear for a few days. He has been swimming quite a bit and says it doesn t really hurt but feels like it needs to pop . Last night I put a couple of rinses of peroxide in it. It bubbled up and then when he cleaned it he got a lot of dark orange/brown discharge. It is a little better today, but still feels weird. Any idea s?

The brown discharge is likely to be cerumen/ear wax. Please dont worry and if your son has no other complaints like ear discharge, decreased hearing or ringing sensation in the ear, then you need not worry about it. Take care
