What Causes Muffled Hearing Post A Self Injury?

Received a light but brisk blow to the left side of my head. No bruise, no soreness, no dizziness, no loss of consciousness, but my right ear now feels stopped-up . Hearing is not as good + tinnitus-like noise. (i had a similar event many years ago and the ear problem went away after an hour or so. Not so this time) I have no other symptoms. My ear feels kind of like it would changing altitude rapidly but it doesn t pop . Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
The blow to the head could have caused damage to the nerves to the ear or to the ear drum. The only way to figure this out is to see a doctor and have them do some exams on your ear. This may clear up on its own but if it is not you really need to see a doctor.
Regards
