What Causes Muffled Hearing?

Hi I have one ear that I hear ok but when I talk it sound muffled but I just discovered that when I laid in my back and I talk it goes away only when I am in a vertical position. All this started after I got a tooth infection and I got a root canal on the same side also when I make a MMMMM sond with my mouth closed I heard the sound like going up and down like my blood pulse but again only when I am in vertical position Any Idea what this can be It been happening for 2 weeks now

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, i do care for your concern.
Your history suggest more of fluid in the middle ear most likely chronic suppurative otitis media.
I would advise to
Consult an ENT specialist, and get done the tuning fork test to rule out the middle ear pathology, and to get treated according to it.
In most of the time a course of antibiotic would relieve the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
I find this answer helpful
