What Causes Muffled Hearing?

About 2 months ago i woke up to everything sounding muffled in my right ear. I used the 3 drop hydrogen peroxide method and it seemed to help alittle. There s no pain, just some small amount of pressure. This lasted for about 1 week then the muffled sound turned to a mechanical, robotic sound. Certain high pitch sounds are painful to hear. When i put the phone to my right ear when its ringing, it sounds like its coming thru a fan on full speed. I ve sprayed warm water up in my ear. I ve used ear drops. What can i do? I have No sinus draining and I m not sick. I m a singer shop I am around loud music from time to time, but i have been for over 25 years. Please help! Any suggestions...

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have muffled hearing in right ear which occur due to many reasons like ear canal dermatitis , which is a kind of allergic reaction or otitis media ( ear infection ), it could be due to allergic reaction. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to take ear antibiotics oral as well as ear drops, painkiller like Ibuprofen, decongestant nasal sprays and pus drainage from the ear can help in faster clearing of infection. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine ear with otoscope , order certain test like allergy test , CT scan and blood tests to rule out ear infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , corticosteroid ear drops and anti inflammatory .
