General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You will need to first have a pregnancy test. If the pregnancy test is negative you will need a gynecological examination and possibly a transvaginal ultrasound. Your doctor may also ask for tests to rule out sexually transmitted diseases if he finds any signs that suggest these.

If all these are normal, a hormonal check is needed (TSH, prolactin, estrogens, progesterone, testosterone, DHEAS, etc).

I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
