What Causes Muscle Ache In The Arms And Legs?

Hi I developed muscle pain 12 weeks ago this spread through out a number of my muscles (upper arms, back side ,upper legs) a course of prednisone made me feel normal but the pain returned slowly .I am much weaker than I was. I am having trouble with many things (dressing, reaching out ,picking up off the floor, getting in and out of a car, carrying heavy objects. I can get to sleep at night but wake about 2;00 or 3:00am and then I toss and turn, occasionally finding a position where the pain subsides and I get back to sleep. I have found that if I get our of bed for a few minutes and then get back to bed the pain has subsided and I can sleep for a while. I am not one for tablets but during the night on three occasions I have taken 2 Panadol and 1 Ibroprofen this did not seem to have any effect I still kept waking with the pain Jim

Hello
The common cause of the painful muscles is deficiency of Vitamin D in body.

So I will suggest you to get your
CBC
Vitamin D levels,
Serum Calcium and
Serum Magnesium levels done.

Some tips i will advice you
1. Get yourself exposed to more sunlight
2. Take Supplements rich in minerals and Antioxidants
3. Take Vit D sachets

Painkillers will not work for a longer duration, until and unless the root cause is not treated.

Thanks
Dr. Tripat Mehta
