What Causes Muscle Concaveness On The Leg?

hi there i have just put some moisturiser on my husbands lower legs and on the rite leg when i pushed it it stayed very concaved for a few minuites.. he is 6ft 3 and 22 stone.. over weight we know has no health probs to now. this is a very recent thing.. what could it be?
