What Causes Muscle Cramps In The Arms And Legs?

My feet and legs and even my arm muscles keep cramping up and aching. My doctor just checked my magnesium and inflammation but said they were okay. She also said my A1c is down to 7.2 from a higher number but she said with the arm to splint it for carpel tunnel but the muscle itself is starting to ache again and the sides of my feet. I ask about neuropathy b/c I have it sometimes in my left leg from a previous surgery but I m not sure what else to do. I was thinking maybe potassium but she also has me on magnesium daily. What could be causing this

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and greetings

You should check your calcium level as well as vit. D levels too as they can also cause muscle cramps.

And it can also be due to arthritic manifestation (see a rheumatologist if levels come normal).

And it can be due to previous neuropathy too.

Thanks.
