What Causes Muscle Pain After Joint Replacements?

I have had three joint replacements, I still have muscle pain even where joints were replaced. My pain and inability to walk came on very suddenly. This leads me to believe that there is something besides arthritis going on. What should I be tested for?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

After reading your query in details, kindly find my answer below.

* As there is a substantial amount of muscle pain, the additional lookup for the underlying cause in terms of nerve compression, compromised the blood supply to muscle or residual inflammation must be evaluated with the treating ortho surgeon.
* Needed investigations are decided after thorough clinical examination, but many cases do require CT scan or soft tissue MRI after due consideration keeping in mind previous replacement surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
