What Causes Muscle Pain And Flu Like Symptoms After Taking Lipitor?

I have been taking generic Lipitor since June. Lately had a lot of Achy ness, muscles,felt like flu. Was only taking 10 mg per day. stopped the drug and feel much better. cholesterol was down to 99, my Dr. Was not concerned about cholesterol being too low. It was borderline before going on drug. Was recently diagnosed with diabetes after being borderline for 10 years.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have muscle pain and flu like symptoms after taking Lipitor. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to side effects of lipitor . I would suggest you to consult doctor who prescribe this medicine . Doctor may alter the dose and prescribe substitute , because lipitor is known to case muscle main and fever as its side effects . For now take paracetamol for pain and flu like symptoms .
