What Causes Muscle Spasms In The Back After Recovering From An Arm Injury?

I have an old injury from 2009. Had a bad break in my upper right arm. I have on and off again muscle spasms in my back just below the right shoulder blade. 2 weeks ago I woke up for work and could not lift my right arm..shoulder was hurting. Yesterday I woke up to get for work and was brushing my hair when my right hand and fingers were tingly and going numb..that lasted most of the day. woke up this morning my middle finger on my right hand was hurting to bend it and would shoot pain through wrist and arm. What could be the problem?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a simple sprain.

As a first line management you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
