Hello, I ve had some random all over muscle twitches after I increased my workout routine. I got blood work with blood count, electrolytes, etc. Everything came back normal. Doctor says my muscles are probably overworked and stressed. New issue: I got a weird almost pulsing sensation like a heart beat feeling in my left quad. I doesn t feel like the muscle twitches. I ve noticed it at night for a few days. No pain or anything else just this very strange pulsing sensation. I m notcing this most at night. Healthy history: 26 year old female, healthy, no smoking, occasional glass of wine. My mom had two brain aneurysms last summer. I got a CT scan in December and I m good. No medication, but started new birth control in January (Quartette). Is this anything to worry about?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. You are experiencing muscle twitching after workout as a result of electrolyte imbalance and calcium deficiency. You need to do the following to overcome the same. 1. Drink good quantities of water to replace fluid loss. 2. Take Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and Citrus fruit juices regularly. 3. Improve your intake of calcium by consuming milk regularly and calcium supplementation in the form of tablets or syrup. Gradually, you should be able to achieve homeostasis of electrolytes and calcium, which should prevent such symptoms from happening. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
