Dear Doctor, Let me first of all thank you for being kind to help my daughter Elizabeth's problem. Elizabeth is 13-years-old and she is studying in Standard IX. She has been complaining of chest pain for the past one year or so. Can you please let me know what the cause is? By the way with regards to eating habits, she does not eat well. She hardly eats before leaving for school in the mornings. Is it down to acidity? Her menstruation did not start until 6 months ago and even after its commencement it has stopped in between. Kindly let me know how her health can be vastly improved? God bless all of f you and your families all the time!!! Kind regards, Georeg Jr. (Elizabeth's father)

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. If she is having pain while palpation on rib area then it is most likely costochondritis. If she is not having heart burn abdominal discomfort and constipation we can rule out pain due to gastritis. It is better to take an X ray chest and ECG to rule out heart and lung problems to be on safe side. For my patients with costochondritis i advise anti inflammatory gels of nimusulide or diclofenac for local application. For some i advise oral tabs of same drugs also.I also recommend in your daughter's condition with worm eradication and vitamin supplements and if necessary appetite stimulants.Hope this may help you. Let me know if you have any further query.
