What Causes Nasal And Eye Bleeding?

I had a bleeding nose for about 4 hrs along with bleeding from eye. It was packed but continued leaking ( done in emerg) Was told it was to high up so could not be cauterized. THerefore, does that mean that another bleed could happen. ( i have never ever had a bleeding nose until that day and had a minor one in morning but it stopped.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Nose bleed may be due to trauma due to nose picking, nasal polyp, accelerated hypertension or intracranial issues.
An increase in pressure within the nasal cavity during epistaxis(by pinching or blowing the nose)can cause retrograde flow of blood through the system and thus lead to bloody tears emerging from the ipsilateral eye.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH
