Hi, my 5 year old grandson is experiencing nose bleeds occasionally, today he had a really bad one that we had a hard time getting it to stop bleeding, it was even coming through his mouth,,, today was the worst one hes had ,and hes only had 2 or 3 episodes before, so, is this something to be alarmed about?
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have nasal bleeding which could be allergic reaction , injury to the nose, repeated sneezing , upper respiratory infection and nasal bleeding can also occur due to sinusitis and post nasal drip. I would suggest you to visit pediatrician once and get it examined. Doctor may also order CT scan or nasal endoscopy along with allergy tests .You should get X-ray chest done as well to find out exact level of infection. You should avoid intake of cold carbonated liquids. Take soft and bland diet. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C. You should take cough expectorants as well. You should use mist humidifiers in room. Do not prick nose and maintain personal hygiene .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
