What Causes Nasal Bleeding Upon Cleaning Tongue Or Throat?

When I clean my tongue or a throat, my nose starts bleeding immediately. It happens for the last 2 years. Is it something to take care? Generally my nose is dry. I am 62 years old. Dr. prescribed Losartin 50 mg. I am taking this for the last 3 years. I do have my regular physical check up.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services.
I have read your query and here is my advise.

* The nasal bleeding upon cleaning tongue or throat indicates tearing
of minute blood vessels producing epistaxis usually secondary to
excess pressure forced upon during cleaning of tongue or throat.

* Making the nasal mucosa remain moist with nasal drops or emolient
cream will help to reduce the issue over a period of time.

Thank you.
Regards.
