Hi, last week all of sudden my upper right back (close to shoulder) started to hurt. Then the pain radiated to right upper rib area. It hurts to breathe or when i put pressure on. Upper right back pain is now gone, but still hard to breathe especailly when i force it it hurs my upper right rib area. My right nasal is completey blocked but left is fine. Took x-rays but no apparent bone damage. Dr. thinks it might be gall bladder problem but y is there nasal blockage and hard to breathe? I have been smoker for 12 years and wondering is there any chance of it being lung related issue?
Noted the history of a smoker, pain started on right back that went to from ribs and have right nasal blockage. The cause of the nasal blockage can be deviated nasal septum or polyp or so. This can be confirmed by ENT Examination and CT scan of the nose and sinuses. The chest pain since superficial can not be due to lung cancer and most probable can be due to myalgia or nerve pinching. Further evaluation can help to get the cause and thus help for proper management. Deviated nasal septum needs corrective surgery. If the chest pain is not controlled then consult a Specialist for proper clinical examination and go for further investigations to get a proper diagnosis and get treated accordingly.
