Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

He may be suffering from acute viral rhinitis with pharyngitis. Middle ear infection may be causative for parial loss of hearing. Other possibilities like flying induced trauma etcetera.

Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid cool drinks, freeze water, smoking.

Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. If symptoms do not improve, please consult your doctor who will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
