What Causes Nasal Congestion In Spite Of Using Zicam?

I have been using Zicam extreme congestion relief once a day for about two weeks. My nasal passage is clear but once the nasal gel wears off, I get very stuffy. I do not have any other issues (i.e. Headache, sore throat) only the stuffiness. Should I,stop using the spray and see how if my congestion clears up?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have congestion that occurs due to either severe cold and Upper Respiratory Tract Infection or can also occur due to infected sinuses also known as SINUSITIS..
Presence of Nasal Polyp can also cause congestion..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like PNS View x ray or MRO of sinuses and nasal endoscopy can help in diagnosis..
In case of Sinusitis you can be advised to take antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, decongestant, saline nasal spray, decongestant nasal spray and also steam inhalation..
Avoid taking chilled foods and air conditioning rooms..

In case of nasal.polyps Steroid nasal spray can help in shrinkage..
At times Steroid injection can be given directly into the polyp to help in regression ogmf lump..
In nothing works surgical excision has to be done..
